The BBC Arabic serviceIn March 2008, the BBC launched its first publicly funded global TV service. In response to the strong demand for an Arabic TV service in the Middle East, the BBC decided to launch a newly integrated multi-platform news and information broadcaster for Arabic speakers.

When the project was given the go-ahead in 2005, DMA was called in to provide the management and support for the launch. DMA led the launch team, looked after recruitment, programming and training and oversaw the technical installation.

BBC Arabic is the largest of the BBC’s non-English language services. It is vital for the BBC in maintaining its position as the world’s leading international broadcaster – a goal we helped it achieve.
