European Broadcasting Union
In 2001, DMA Media was asked to carry out a full review of the European Broadcasting Union’s regular News Exchanges.
The Union represents the largest association of national broadcasters in the world and co-ordinates a regular transfer of taped news material.
The EBU prides itself on being at the forefront of research and development of new media and is always working with developers to produce content for new platforms.
We were tasked with recommending how the EBU could adapt to the new media age – in particular by using Internet protocols for the transmission of news and video. Over a period of weeks, we visited at least twenty countries in Western and Eastern Europe, garnering information and data to support our subsequent report.
The DMA blueprint was put into practice by the EBU.
